Intermediate students will choose their own patterns and work to advance to more intricate work. They are expected to cut and foil accurately and produce a consistently beaded solder line. Jean will contact each student to challenge them to choose pieces that will increase their skill set. Students will provide glass and materials (solder, flux, foil, patina, etc.) for their project.

This simple beginner’s panel will have you remembering beautiful sunsets! Beginning students will learn the basics by creating a 7”x10” stained glass panel using the copper foil method pioneered by Louis Comfort Tiffany. An example is on display at the Arts Center.
A supply list for all students will be given upon receipt of
payment. CAC will provide all equipment for use in class.

ZENTANGLE

Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. If you can use a pencil and pen, you can create beautiful images with the Zentangle method...using just one stroke at a time. Gloria will explain the purpose and history of Zentangle and teach you traditional basic forms. You will receive a packet of supplies needed to continue “Zentangling” after the class is over!

WATERCOLOR PEN & INK

Learn the basics of watercolor, then combine with Micron pens to create unique paintings. Week one you’ll complete a 5x5” painting of a 3-D winter bird perched on a wreath, that can be mounted in an 8x8” frame (frame available for purchase). Week two you’ll create an adorable hedgehog valentine, to show how much you love that special someone. If time permits, we’ll paint with alcohol inks on glossy photo paper & doodle designs with pen & ink. Stop in to see the samples. Teen to adult .

ART HISTORY, SKETCHING & COFFEE!

You will meet in the Gallery to discuss Art History, famous artists and learn their stories...over a cup of coffee (bring a sack lunch if you’d like). After learning about a particular type of art, you’ll sketch the art forms discussed. This is a very informal class focused on learning about art and enjoying time with others that love art.​

INTERMEDIATE POTTERY II

Building on basic skills from Clay I (required), the Clay II student must be able to wedge clay, center clay on a wheel, and throw a small pot. This class is for the students looking to advance their skills on the wheel. Wear old, comfortable clothes, and bring a towel for your lap/clean up. No long fingernails and please leave your jewelry at home. Also, please stay for clean up after the class.Materials fee of $25 is payable to the Arts Center.

LEARN TO CROCHET

Beginners will learn how to start a project with basic stitches such as chain stitch, single & double crochet & more. The class will cover other techniques such as increasing, decreasing, and pattern reading. Projects include a dishcloth, spa cloth, a scarf or a necklace. Experienced students may bring something they are currently working on. Materials needed by beginners: Practice Peaches and Cream yarn & J hook.

COLORED PENCIL DRAWING

Jen is excited to share her passion for colored pencils with you. She is a published illustrator with years of creating colored pencil art. She will teach you blending, shading and layering techniques to get the most out of your colored pencil. You’ll work on pre-printed drawings, blank pages and drawings of your own creation.

What a wonderful way to spend a cold winter’s night...learning how to knit! If you’ve wanted to learn to knit, or haven’t knitted in a long time and want a refresher course, join this class! Dot will teach you basic stitches and how to read a pattern. You’ll be creating scarves and throws before you know it! Needles and practice yarn will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
